Welcome to Kip’s Canine Club

Hi, I’m Alex, a VSA-certified dog trainer based in Margate, Kent. I founded Kip’s Canine Club to help improve the lives of dogs and their people through force-free, positive reinforcement training across Thanet and beyond.

My dog training journey started with my Romanian rescue dog, Kip – an anxious boy with big feelings about the world.

Struggling with his worsening reactivity towards other dogs and people, I turned to social media for help. But much of the advice being touted there didn’t sit right with me.

I enlisted the help of a clinical behaviourist who helped me understand Kip’s struggles. Learning how to read his subtle body language cues, realising the importance of careful management, building his confidence and helping him regulate his feelings towards sights and sounds that made him uncomfortable made me appreciate how Kip perceived the world.

Through Kip’s Canine Club, I help people and their dogs navigate the world. Whether providing support for your reactive rescue dog, brushing up on recall and loose-lead walking skills, or private puppy training, my approach is the same – to help people better understand their canine companions by combining modern training techniques with science-based knowledge, to support their dogs with patience, empathy, and understanding.
